Sorry for the long silence…..  I just don’t know where the time has gone (how many times have I said this in the last week???) but it is true, and so I will say it again …. I don’t know where the time has gone.  It has literally flown for me and, thankfully, been quite productive.  How has your week been?  Please write and share with me.

I and two of our team, David and Julius, have been busy opening a smoothie/fresh juice bar situated at an outdoor training facility. CrossTrain  is not a gym in the traditional sense, rather it is an outdoor training facility, but before I tell you about it, let me share a bit about the smoothie/juice bar.

We started just a couple of weeks ago and so far, it has been great.  Our customers are enjoying smoothies and juices made from fresh, organically grown produce such as kale, spinach, celery, parsley, soursop, bananas, pawpaw and much more….  In fact, the green smoothies have been a hit.  What do you expect with smoothie names such as Cindy Minty and Green Beast?  Maestro David came up with these.  It was our Smoothie of the Week and even though we have taken it off the board, customers come back for more.  If you want to try it at home, here is the recipe.

Maestro David (I will get him to smile next time)

Cindy Minty Smoothie (serves One)

¼ Ripe Avocado

Half a cup Almond Milk (or you can substitute with Oat Milk)

A sprig or two of mint

¼ cup natural yogurt

One banana

Slice of Pineapple

Ice

Cinnamon

Put all ingredients (except cinnamon) in blender and blend until smooth.  Pour into a glass and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Now to CrossTrain.  It is an outdoor workout place located diagonal to the US Embassy in Accra.  When you first walk in, straightaway you can tell that this well-equipped, training/ fitness centre is a place for those who take their work-outs seriously!  Native Juice enhances the overall amenities.  The smoothie bar is open to the general public so do come by and, not only will you enjoy our smoothies but trust me, you will want to sign up to join the many fitness programmes CrossTrain offers.  There is a 60m-dash track, punching bags, wall climbing, pulley ropes, weights, training with footballs, and more.

Ok, that is enough; you will just have to come over and check it out for yourselves. (I am sure your curiosity has been whetted).  What I love about this place is that it is all done outdoors: very refreshing.
